During my trips to central america, as news reporter I have to protect myself against malaria and mosquito bites. I was on the everglades of the border of Panama and Colombia with a lot of mosquitoes and poison snakes but I always have Vicks Vaporub mixed with garlic for protect against mosquito bites.
It's very simple: cut 3 garlic bulbs in small pieces, put into the vaporub container, keep it open put it in the microwave for 30 seconds, until it melt and mixes with the garlic.
Put it in your pocket and keep handy to rub in your arms, legs and neck if you go the park, river or stay in the backyard.
The strong odors of the Vick Vaporub keep away the mosquito, and the garlic isolate the skin against a bite. Zica Virus Mosquito exist on the border of Panama and Colombia since long time ago, and natives use this remedy to protect pregnant woman.
Cuando fui reportero viaje varias veces a El Salvador, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, y aprendi a protegerme de las picaduras de mosquitos y viboras. La pantanosa frontera de Panama y Colombia es la zona del mundo con mas mosquitos.
Antes de salir a mis viajes preparaba Vick Vaporub y le ponia pequenos pedazos de ajo, por lo regular 3 o 4 por pomo, luego lo metia al micro ondas hasta que se disolvieran o tambien se puede poner en bano "maria".
Siempre lo llevaba en mi equipaje, y cuando los mosquitos empezaban a molestar me untaba el unguento en mis brazos piernas, oidos y cuello, un poco en la frente pero que no le llegue a los ojos.
Asi siempre estuve protegido de las picaduras.
